Abstract
While a healthcare center changed a screening test for detecting Chlamydia infections on late March 2017, the center reported sudden increased test positive (TP, %) in the first half of this year. The aim was to evaluate the association between this soar in TP and the test change. To confirm the effect of the test change, the data was limited in mandatory screenees of the nationwide health program for managing sexually transmitted diseases with females aged over 20 years old in the first half of this year. TPs and their confidence intervals (CI) before (January to March) and after (April to June) test change were estimated. TP were 0% and 6.77% (95% CI: 4.29-10.07) before and after test change, respectively. The soar in TP of Chlamydia infections in the first half of this year could be explained by an effect of changing the screening test.
